This policy explains how Komplimang AB ('we', 'us', 'our') collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our social platform designed for students. We are committed to protecting your personal information and handling data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Swedish data protection laws.

We collect information necessary to provide our services and maintain a safe school community environment.
Account Information: Name, username, age, gender, and grade level.
School Data: School connection codes and geolocation (optional) to verify your community. Usage Data: Poll responses, compliments sent/received, 'Top Keys', and interactions within the app.
Technical Data: Device type, operating system, IP address, and app crash logs to ensure stability. Payment Data: Transactions are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store). We do not store your credit card details, only the purchase history of virtual items.
We use your information on the legal basis of performing our contract with you and for our legitimate interests in maintaining a safe platform. Specifically, we use data to:
Provide and maintain the Komplimang app. Verify school connections and ensure users are real students. Enable the anonymous polling and 'Top Keys' systems. Ensure platform security, detect bots, and prevent bullying. Send important service updates.
We never sell your personal information to third parties. We only share information in the following limited circumstances:
Service Providers: With trusted third-party companies that help us operate the app (e.g., cloud hosting, analytics), under strict data processing agreements. Legal Compliance: If required by Swedish law or to protect the safety of our users. Business Transfers: If Komplimang AB is involved in a merger or acquisition.
We retain your information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy.
Account data: Stored until you delete your account or request termination. Usage data: Retained for up to 24 months for service improvement and analytics.
Inactive accounts: We reserve the right to delete accounts that have been inactive for an extended period.
Komplimang is designed for students 13 years and older in Sweden.
We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If we discover that a user is under 13, we will immediately delete their account and data.

Right to access: You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you. Right to correction: You can correct inaccurate information in your profile settings. Right to erasure ('Right to be forgotten'): You can request deletion of your account and data at any time. Right to object/restrict: You can object to how we process your data.
You can delete your account directly within the app settings. Alternatively, you can request deletion by emailing us. Once an account is deleted, the data cannot be recovered.
